 Once common in North America, Asia and Europe, the fastest of all land animals is now confined to parts of Africa and Iran. Cheetahs are not the only animals threatened with extinction, however. Some estimate that as many as 1-3 species die out each day! This happens for a variety of reasons loss of habitat, loss of food sources, natural disasters (drought, floods, fire), disease, or hunting by humans or other animals. If extinction is so common in todayıs world, why is it that there is such a mystery surrounding the disappearance of the dinosaurs? |
